The Kansas State University Center for Sustainable Energy through research and educational efforts, seeks to provide sustainable, renewable energy while maintaining the environment and providing an adequate food supply. The CSE manages and coordinates activities of various educational programs relating to bioenergy; the National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program for PhD students, the Department of Education Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) program for senior and graduate students, the K-State Biobased Products and Bioenergy Graduate Certificate,and the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. Kansas State University also offers many courses in the field of alternative energy.
